University of Illinois College of Medicine, Cancer Research Center is a two-story, state-of-the-art research facility housing advanced laboratory spaces, conference spaces, and faculty office. Project challenges included significant coordination of laboratory equipment packages, including all building system requirements necessary for final connection of the equipment. Facility currently focuses research efforts on the invasive characteristics of malignant tumor cells that infiltrate normal tissue and cause tumors recurrence.
